09/09 -
haa design are delighted
to announce that Gillian Stewart, formerly UK
director of strategy and design at DEGW has this
week joined haa design in Glasgow
as director.
In a
quirk of fate, she is re-joining Hugh Anderson,
Managing Director of haa design,
who first set up DEGW's Scottish operation in
1985 and she will now join design consortia working
on several major projects, including the proposed
£300m New Campus Glasgow development.
Gillian
is a member of the Chartered Society of Designers
and the British Council for Offices, as well as
being a qualified interior designer. Past
projects include work with BP, Cisco Systems,
Microsoft, Phillips, RBC, Standard Life and law
firms McGrigors and Maclay Murray & Spens.
Hugh
Anderson of haa design said: “The ethos of design
and consultancy being inextricably linked is the
foundation of our business and we're delighted
to both welcome a like minded individual and to
add Gillian's extensive international experience
to the team.
“haa
design is currently exploring projects in Ireland,
China and in Cyprus where the work currently being
carried out in Scotland is rightly viewed as world-beating,
particularly in the field of higher education.
Gillian's mix of skills will really complement
a team dedicated to design-led consultancy and
to the seamless marriage of function and technology
into physical architecture”.
Gillian
Stewart adds: “I'm really energised by the work
haa design has been doing to create innovative
academic and office environments. First class
design goes way beyond buildings and into the
links people have with the full range of communities
with whom they interact. I share Hugh Anderson's
holistic approach to design and am really looking
forward to working with the team.”
