haa design worked with King Sturge on behalf of AVIVA to modernise the atrium of Glasgow’s 123 St Vincent Street, at the same time as dealing with issues of security and access for maintenance. The intention was to improve the usability of this space by softening it at low level, giving it more of a human scale and making it suitable for casual meetings.
The finished proposals reveal a lighter, brighter atrium space. New decorative lighting and softer finishes have created a more modern and welcoming space for the tenants. Sculptural suspended lights draw the eye upwards while oversize floor lamps create cosy informal seating areas.
