The SCRA need to rationalise their Reporter offices across the country, improving space utilisation and business efficiency.  Generally this means a move towards open plan working, a major cultural change for an organisation which has been used to enclosed offices and staff hierarchy.  The pilot project in Aberdeen showed how open plan might work while preserving privacy and protecting staff from the disruption of the various business support processes.  The image of the offices is radically different also, being bright, colourful and ‘non-bureaucratic’.  Even the Hearing Rooms, which require full confidentiality and security, manage to feel informal and friendly
