Stirling Council are investigating
new ways of delivering council services which can be quicker,
cheaper and more customer friendly. As an experiment
in this new way of working haa design were
asked to assist them in the design of a 24 hour social
services “call centre”. Besides incorporating
sophisticated call centre technology the centre was required
to feel totally different from traditional council office
space, engendering a spirit of helpfulness and team working. haa
design’s approach was to organise the desk
space in a continuous loop, keeping workers close together
while maintaining a feeling of spaciousness. Finishes
are cheap but durable, bright and fresh. Cables are
managed in a simple manner keeping the space flexible but
deliverable within the limits of a council budget. |
