Tarmac might be a company
better known for hard hats and hob–nailed boots,
but its management systems are as sophisticated as any
city business. To accompany the introduction of some
of these new systems Tarmac required a culture change and
a form of office space which encouraged flexibility of
movement and flexibility of thinking. The new offices
which haa designed in a business unit
in Bellshill are not only bright but unusual, with touch-down
spaces and stand–up tables. Management staff
who move between sites and different offices have ‘hot
offices’ but sales and booking staff who work from
the building have permanent desks, albeit open plan. |
