haa design runs a Windows 2003 Server based network with a mix of Windows 2000 and XP Professional Clients.  Principal applications in use are AutoCAD LT 2005, Microsoft Office 2000, Adobe InDesign and Sage Line 50.  Current software service releases are installed on all PCs.  All data files are held on the server and these files are backed up to tape on a nightly basis.  The tapes are taken off site for safe storage. Anti-virus policies are in place and Symantec AntiVirus is used.  All PCs are centrally managed by the server and are updated daily with the latest available signature files.  Cabling is Category 5 structure cabling throughout the premises for both voice and data.  Data transmissions are via a 100Mbps UTP switch.  External communications for email and Internet is via ADSL broadband. The local area network is protected by a firewall. First line system support is provided in house with backup support services contracted from a third party IT services organisation.
