This project has involved the creation of a flexible learning environment for City of Glasgow College. The new College is to be home to around 1,200 staff and 40,000 students and will become the heart of the city’s learning quarter.
haa design worked as the specialist consultant in support of the overall architectural proposals, building on its research into the effects of new patterns of learning and teaching. We led the space budget modelling process, leading to the unification of three separate Colleges, replacing the scattered and tired College estate with a new purpose-designed campus. We provided test layouts for the majority of the teaching and learning spaces in order to confirm the appropriateness of spaces being provided by the architect.
The proposals will create a modern, efficient and sustainable campus which is fundamental to the realisation of the new College’s vision.
